Erik Pringle has lived his whole life on Vashon, all 15 years so far. Erik learned to swim with Dayna Rogers, Aquatic Director and manager at the VAC, and joined the swim team when he was 8 years old. When asked when he started swimming, “Since before I can remember - I love the water”.
Erik explains what being on the Vashon Stingrays swim team means to him. “I love swimming with the Stingrays because we have the best coaches! They all focus on technique prior to speed which keeps injuries at bay as well as bringing their own energy and expertise to each practice. They are supportive, dedicated and go above and beyond for each swimmer. My teammates are amazing and it is fun to have the comradery.”
Erik’s moto is “Stick to your plans and goals. Do not let distractions get in your way.” He feels fitness is an integral part to a quality life.
